Introduction

David Mackett is a Toronto based actor specializing in richly textured character work in both classical and contemporary repertoire. A graduate of Circle in the Square Theatre School, with additional training at RADA and the Citadel/Banff Centre, David brings a deep command of language, heightened text, and complex dramatic roles.

A veteran of Canada's independent theatre scene, he is particularly recognized for his extensive Shakespearean work, including Prospero (The Tempest), Gloucester (King Lear), Titus (Titus Andronicus), and Cymbeline (Cymbeline). He has performed with Shakespeare BASH'd, the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival, Citadel Theatre, and numerous companies across Canada and the United States.

His solo performance in Conor McPherson's The Good Thief helped earn the production recognition as one of Toronto's Top Ten Productions of 2019 by critic Christopher Hoile of Stage Door, while his portrayal of John in Dublin Carol garnered a My Entertainment World Critics' Pick Award nomination for Outstanding Actor. NOW Magazine also singled out his performance in Cold Comfort for Outstanding Performance.

David is a member of CAEA, AEA, and ACTRA and holds an M.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Western Ontario.
